ASSAULT - Briefing
Situation: Following an ambush by enemy forces, a wounded resistance leader escaped to the local city hospital for treatment of his wounds.The leader is a critical member of the Resistance Government within Unconventional Warfare Area of Operations (UWAO) JAZZ.
Rules of Engagement: Be especially careful to protect the hospital workers and hospital facilities during this operation as well as any medevac helicopters landing at the hospital.Rules of Engagement published 12MAY05 are in effect. Use necessary force against positively identified enemy combatants only. Minimize damage to local infrastructure. Be advised civilian refugees may be present in contested area.
Mission: ODA 2019 assaults Objective KUHIO, vicinity ZZ 031441, commencing 14 0700 MAR 06, to exfiltrate the friendly resistance leader to the medevac helicopter that is landing at 14 0700 MAR 06 on the city hospital helipad in order to maintain continuity of resistance leadership in UWAO JAZZ.
Enemy: Enemy forces, supported by foreign advisors, are believed to have launched a snatch-team to seize the Resistance leader and any documents in his possession.Escort the VIP to the medevac helicopter and secure the PZ to allow safe egress of the medevac helicopter.
Friendly: Special Forces (Airborne) Split ODA 2019 and Resistance Fire Team.
Terrain: The hospital is located in an active battle area within the city.Many civilians are operating in the hospital and scattered throughout the area. A medevac helicopter is landing periodically in order to drop off injured civilians and pickup medical supplies.
DEFENSE - Briefing
Situation: A terrorist leader has received medical attention from a local civilian hospital where it is believed he is preparing to stow away on a privatized medevac helicopter in order to escape the area.
Rules of Engagement: Be especially careful to protect the hospital workers and hospital facilities as well as the medevac helicopter during this operation. Rules of Engagement published 12MAY05 are in effect. Use necessary force against positively identified enemy combatants only. Minimize damage to local infrastructure. Be advised civilian refugees may be present in contested area.
Mission: ODA 2019 assaults Objective KUHIO, vicinity ZZ 031441, commencing 14 0700 MAR 06, to protect the medevac helicopter, landing at 14 0700 MAR 06 on the city hospital helipad, and prevent the VIP leader from gaining access to the medevac helicopter.
Enemy: Enemy forces terrorists are believed to have launched a small team to assist their leader in gaining access to the medevac helicopter currently dropping off patients and preparing it to pick up the wounded terrorist leader.
Friendly: Special Forces (Airborne) Split ODA 2019 and Resistance Fire Team.
