CEVO Round 4 - Predictions

Article by wh!z - September 8, 2010, 8:12 pm

Week 4 of CEVO presents us with what I consider one of the few "good" maps in America's Army; MOUT McKenna. This is a map which generally results in one side (honor) taking two of the three objectives while the other team attempts to secure them (while simultaneously guarding their own). Generally speaking, this means that the "assaulting" team (loyalty) will make a push for one of said objectives in the last minute of the game. However, the beauty of this map is that it allows both teams to execute very nice rushes and flanks via the middle street or the tunnels. This makes for some unique and fast paced rounds mixed in with a bunch of slower clutch rounds.

On the pred block with me today are trololand and some dude who casts on e-rev.

Article by Noobie - September 1, 2010, 12:42 am

This week we have round 3 of CEVO's AA Revival tourny. This weeks map is pipeline, each round will be 4 minutes long 14 rounds to a game sides swap every 7 rounds. At this point in the tourney we're going to start seeing teams weaken. They start to break up and stop showing for matches, but those teams that stay with it often get better each match or maintain a certain amount of dominance in the league. There are several good matches this week. HRL vs ProCalibre, Just 4 Fame vs, ihbmfuCT, epiC vs, nx and si Gaming vs, med! I feel that the match of the week is going to be epiC vs nx. Both teams have a lot to prove in my opinion. There is definately no love loss between these two teams so this will make for a good "grudge" match.

Joining me today are two players who have been around the block a few times. We have [Zeta35.cxn] and ProCal.pdx.

TWL Fall Season - Week 1 Predictions
CompetitionView Comments (5)
Article by 12ampage - August 30, 2010, 1:13 pm

This week kicks off the first regular season week of TWL Fall League 2010. 20 teams have signed up and will be battling it out in two divisions. The open division is home to many new teams while the intervite division is represented by teams of the past making their bid at a comeback.

This season will be defined by a well-balanced map list. Teams will have the opportunity to showcase their close-quarters combat on classic maps such as Urban Assault and Collapsed Tunnel. In addition, teams will be required to hone their long-range shots for maps such as Border and River Basin. Needless to say, in order for a team to succeed this season they must be well-balanced in all aspects of the game.

CEVO Round 2 - Predictions

Article by wh!z - August 25, 2010, 8:02 pm

Week two of CEVO's America's Army revival tournament is about to kick off with little to no fanfare. This weeks matches on Weapons Cache SE are between teams who are still in the winners bracket and are fighting for eternal fame and glory. Speaking of wcse, it is a map known for being hard to win on assault while also providing many opportunities for varied strategies. What makes the map so varied is that the defending team has a lot of options. They can choose to set up a defense at any of the three objectives or they could go so far as to camp in random corners of the map. This means that the assaulting team is often hard pressed to take all of the objectives within the alloted time (since they are forced to waste time checking corners and being aware).

Joining me today are two of the most qualified prediction writers of all time: bdmg and sani. These top tier players don't hesitate to speak their minds and will bring to the community the cold hard truth (with no bias whatsoever).
