Another new patch for AA3 has been released today.  So far the speed of the patches is a good sign as far as the new dev team goes, and hopefully we will continue to see improvements.  As far as the patch goes, it fixes a decent amount of stuff both in gameplay and connecting to servers.

Article by .Mark - July 8, 2009, 4:00 pmDeparture of [Dev]AceKilla

Today at 9:01 AM EST, the America's Army community learned that [Dev]AceKilla (Ace Aubuchon) is leaving the Army Game Project. Ace was hired to work on America's Army back in 2003 by Alex Mayberry ([Dev]Abraxas). His final position was Lead Designer for v3.0. Ace described his experience with the AGP very positively, and shifted blame on the current status of the game from the Beta team to the Developer team. The overall community response to his departure was very positive, and people wished him well in future projects.

Ace was one of the few developer's remaining after the Army chose to consolidate their Developer team. His departure is symbolic of a new start in the game; for better or worse is not yet known. We at AA Command wish him well, and will miss him greatly.

Article by sixxtoes - July 6, 2009, 9:59 pmXtreme Professional League

Despite the surge of inactivity in AA2, a new league is looking to start up complete with an anti-cheat and a map list that caters to the long-range shots.  The XPL (Xtreme Professional League) starts its pre-season on July 28th, preparing teams for an 8 week season with (if enough teams sign up) a three week playoff.  With sponsors such as steelseries, Logitech, and Primary Target; and the possiblity of prizes (hopefully better than htgn) teams may want to look into this.  Registration is open until the 25th of July, giving everyone plenty of time to find 4 willing starters.

To check the league out for yourself and register your team, click here.

To view the map list, read-on.

The devs have just released a new patch for the 3.x series.  3.0.4 is said to be the biggest patch so far and hopefully it helps out.  Good timing to, just perfect for the July 4th Weekend.  I would imagine like usual the first day will be slow because of all the downloading that will be going on...but It should even out over the weekend!Happy Independence Day!

Just in time for the July 4th weekend, we're rolling out another patch will solve some additional issues and improve certain functions, and is available through the Deploy Client and Steam. Here's what this patch contains:

* Admin VOIP Improvements
* New "version" console command to see the current version
* Server browser performance improvements
* Fixes joining password protected servers so it no longer selects the server underneath the mouse cursor when clicking on the "Join" button in the password entry dialog.
* Fix for settings menu improperly closing when ESC pressed and leaving the player stuck with no UI and limited control
* Mission generation optimizations
* Fixed issue with logging into game servers that sometimes used another player's soldier profile.
