There AA Team released AA3's first teaser trailer through their new Facebook Fan Page yesterderay.  It doesn't show much more other then some new action shots but it does give us one important peice of information at the end, the release date.  The game is said to be released June 17th which beats the community's guess, only 7% of the community figured a June release date. (the biggest was July) This is big news for all gamers, it will be interesting to see the new game in action!

Another season of TWL is about to kick off this Monday. Matches this week are going to be played on the longstanding competition staple Insurgent Camp. IC is an interesting map in the sense that it can have some of the fastest rounds of any map or very slow, drawn out rounds. This all seems to depend on the play style of the team that you are matched up against and that's what makes IC one of the best competition maps there is. Generally speaking defense is the harder side on IC since there are so many entrances to the building and good 203 and AR fire can cover the windows quite handily.
The teams that are playing in inters this season are a bit of a curiosity since it is basically a three way split between brand new inters teams, old teams/players who have decided to play again, and teams that have always been here. This will make it very hard for the predictors to get all of their preds right. But, we will have a go at it anyways.

The official release date of AA3 is going to be announced exclusively on the facebook fanpage:  America's Army: The Official U.S. Army Game.  I am not sure when the announcement will be made but they have been moving things along in the facebook page pretty quickly.  The group was created on May 20th with the promise of an exclusive video release, the video was then released on the 27th.  If the AGP remains loyal to the same timeframe we could speculate that the announcement will come on or near June 4th.   This date in its self is interesting, it is exactly one month prior to the date the community picked as the date they expect the game to be released.

The facebook fan page continues to grow, if you are not already a member you need to join up and invite your friends.  There is very litle one person can do to effect the popularity of the game, but if the community as a whole puts an effort into promoting the game on facebook I believe that we will see a reward for our efforts.

In january the AGP released a new website, aa3.americasarmy.com, which provided the community with a series of videos about AA3.  Today the last video(of the original listing) was released.  However, the video was not released on the AA3 Homepage but instead on facebook.  To view the video visit the facebook fan page "America's Army: The Official U.S. Army Game" where you will find the video in the videos section.

Some of the information in the video is old news; but, the developers do give us a little more insight into the possibilities of the Unreal Engine and what it means for the future of Americas Army.  The video touches base on various effects within aa3: explosions, smoke, particles, shadows, lighting, face customization, and detail about character animation.

On another note, the facebook fanpage is quickly becoming a great advertising medium for the AGP.  The fan page was created exactly 1 week ago and has already amassed nearly 3000 members.  If you are not already a member of the group join it and tell your friends about it.  Lets push this group and see how many people we can get to join it and help educate potential players on why Americas Army is great.

According to the UGL website, teams can now sign up for Season 3. Sounds like it will be a nice short season with a few good changes on the horizon, lets make this season better then S2...informy our team right away so we can get more teams to sign up. UGL will be switching their default match day to Thursdays. We will be aiming to start the matches by June 4th depending on teams signed up.

We will be doing a short 6 week season with the top 4 teams from each division going to the playoffs.

The map list will be posted shortly, There will be no preseason this season.
